Somewhere Over the Rainbow (A Fairy Story)
Once upon a time……..
The wicked witch of the west has announced that petrol and diesel drivers will have to pay £300 or £426 or something much higher to drive on the United Kingdom roads, which is certainly a slap in the face for drivers. Obviously the witch hasn’t heard of the COST OF LIVING CRISIS. The only way I can see regarding these ludicrous prices is for the public to do something instead of just laying back and hoping someone else is going to step up to the plate and do something.
Commercial vehicles will not be exempt from these new costs and could come out on strike, therefore stop supplying shops and stores with essential groceries and other items that are needed to keep families going. Although that is not really recommended.
The Government don’t really help, allowing the sale of special coins commemorating something or other from the past. Advertisers trying their hardest to sell you this and that and they make it sound really good and dress it up and people fall for it, even though they can’t afford to buy it.
It is funny that when the Tories were in power, they defended the rich and took from the poor, just like King John and the Sheriff of Nottingham did in Robin Hood’s day. We all know it is just a story, I mean the Robin Hood bit. Now that Labour is in power, they are taking from the rich and the poor to fill their pockets for Christmas.
Of course other political news, much more powerful than the Witch’s revelation regarding petrol and diesel drivers, which the party tried to hide so why is the Prime Minister slapping the back of the witch and saying what a good job you are doing instead of pouring water on her to dissolving the situation. Much later the Labour party are going to feel the wrath of every driver in the United Kingdom and a sure thing is they may have foolishly voted them in power, but they can easily do a U TURN and vote them out next time and the reason is for INSANITY in the ranks!
Of course if the Council increase the tax on each property, which seems to be on the books to do at Eastbourne to take an example and the Government give them enough to cover their budgets, they certainly won’t be bankrupt as one Councillor informed me. Of course there is the possibility they may spend this money on useless projects, just like the carpet gardens full of grasses growing in pebbles.
Nice to have toilets for animals on the sea front!
Dorothy sang so beautifully ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ in Fairy Land. The land of make-believe!
The above is just my opinion and anyone who wants to write to me care of the newspaper regarding the content – please do so! Swear words are not accepted
