How Awkward Could it BE!
The world is changing, the people are changing! Everything is changing. If you are wearing glasses for instance, people might stop you and ask you “Are you wearing smart glasses?” Punch you in the face before you had a chance to answer. Provocation on this level isn’t acceptable, but how would you prove it in court? Persons who wear spectacles like this must have sick minds!
How many persons have you had an answer like this? “It’s nothing to do with me.” “I’m sorry I can’t help you!” How many persons have not bothered to reply? Answers like these are not helpful. We are becoming a nation of unhelpfulness for one reason or another.
I have had a problem with a tree that a neighbour informed me was falling towards our other neighbour’s and our fence plus our greenhouse. I sent emails and phone calls to various organisations, all of whom didn’t bother to answer. The one inquiry that had been a mystery to me was the Council person who had solved my neighbour’s tree crisis, but couldn’t help me and yet we live in the same area. You have to ask yourself “WHY!” Was it something said that was true and they didn’t like the answer?
I am pleased to print that this matter has been resolved and although people on the Council couldn’t have cared less what happened to the 5 to 7 year old children at Pashley Down School where the tree is situated, the person who telephoned the School did!
Local Councils are supposed to support the community which they govern, but it seems too much like hard work for some or they can’t be bothered. I know for I have been at the receiving end as I took up the case of the missing Grit Bin in Abbey Road a Council person said we never had. I was informed that the Grit Bin was at the top end of Abbey Road in 1987 and the Council took it away and now they have taken the other Grit Bin away at the other end of Abbey Road. The weather mustn’t dare to become icy as there will be an accident.
During the summer months, there was a rare sighting of the vehicle that cleans the kerb gutters. Someone took a photograph and pinned it on the wall and invited everybody in to see it. Such a rare sighting had to be viewed!
Also I understand that the Council granted in principle to allow a handrail to be made and placed beside some dangerous concrete steps, but would not give a date as to when the job would be done. I understand that six months have passed and nothing has been done, obviously persons in this group of Councillors are telling PORKIES!
The above is just my opinion and anyone who wants to write to me care of the newspaper regarding this content – please do so! Swear words are not accepted.
